Getting around the property

A limited number of ground-floor rooms are wheelchair accessible. Bathroom features and the exact access setup vary by room, so please call before booking to confirm that an available room meets your needs.

What we build to

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA. Every page is tested automatically against that standard at three screen widths — 320, 390 and 1440 pixels — and the build is not released with a known violation outstanding.

That testing covers:

• Text contrast against its background, at AA ratios.
• Alternative text on every image. This is enforced when the site is built: a photograph added without a description fails the build rather than reaching you.
• Keyboard navigation. Every control can be reached and operated without a mouse, and the focused element is always visible.
• Tap targets of at least 44 by 44 pixels for standalone controls.
• Text that scales. Nothing here disables pinch-zoom, and the layout holds when text is enlarged.
• Headings and landmarks in a real order, so a screen reader can navigate the page by structure.

What is not done yet

Automated testing catches a great deal, but not everything. We have not yet completed a manual review with a screen reader, and some of our photography still needs richer descriptions written by someone who knows the property.
